# Shopify crawler approval

Shopify supports Web Bot Auth for bots and agents. NBT signs direct crawler traffic and can also use a merchant-generated crawler approval for the exact storefront domain.

A merchant approval is used only for the domain it covers and for the read-only requests it is meant for. It does not give NBT Shopify Admin access, general access to orders or customer records, permission to ignore robots.txt, or authority to submit payment or orders.

Signing is not a bypass. Shopify or Cloudflare protection still slows or stops work.
